Terms of service

A fair agreement for using SPARC.

What SPARC promises, what we ask of you, and where an educational tool must be honest about its limits.

Last updated 15 August 2026Version 1.2Contact support@sparc.ng

Please read this bit: SPARC helps you prepare and make better-informed choices. It cannot promise a JAMB score, admission, a particular question, an uninterrupted service, or the accuracy of information controlled by an exam body or institution.

1. Your agreement with SPARC

These Terms of Service apply when you create a SPARC account, use the app or connected website, or buy a Lara pass. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

If you are under 18, SPARC requires a parent or legal guardian to approve before an account is activated. The app remains locked, including offline preview, while approval is pending. A guardian may decline or later withdraw without SPARC automatically deleting the student's learning data.

2. What SPARC provides

SPARC provides exam-preparation and academic-direction tools: downloaded teaching content, sessions, practice, mocks, saved questions, mistake review, coverage, readiness, study planning, reminders, admission context and Lara guidance.

Much of the study loop works offline once the required content is on your device. Account creation, payments, live Lara, fresh content, support submission and some backup or restoration actions need a connection.

SPARC will keep developing. Features may be improved, renamed, added or retired. We will not quietly remove an active paid entitlement during the period shown at purchase, except where access must be restricted for safety, abuse, law or a failure outside our reasonable control. If a material paid feature cannot be delivered, contact support so we can put it right fairly.

3. Study and admission guidance

Questions, explanations, readiness points, score ranges, recommendations and Lara messages are educational guidance. They are not official exam instructions, a professional counselling service, or a guarantee of a result.

Admission facts move. Subject combinations, cut-offs, dates, course names and university policies may change between cycles or differ by institution and entry route. SPARC may show verified information, a previous-cycle record, a conflict, or something we have not checked yet. Those labels matter.

Before an irreversible choice: confirm the current requirement with JAMB, the institution or another official source. “Not checked yet” does not mean “not offered”, and a historical cut-off is not a promise for the next cycle.

SPARC is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for JAMB, any university or any government agency.

4. Lara and generated guidance

Lara can explain, coach and help turn your learning evidence into a practical next move. She is not a human tutor, admissions officer, therapist, doctor, lawyer or emergency service.

Generated responses can occasionally misunderstand a question, miss context or be incomplete. SPARC limits the context sent, adds deterministic facts where available and provides bundled fallbacks, but no AI system is perfect. Check an important claim against the question, syllabus or official source and report anything that looks wrong.

Do not use Lara for an emergency or share passwords, one-time codes, full card details, health records or another person’s private information. If a student appears to be in immediate danger, contact a trusted adult or the appropriate local emergency service.

5. Lara passes and payments

SPARC currently offers two separate one-off products. Neither renews automatically.

Lara Assist Pass

Access for the exact duration and price shown before payment. The amount and duration are set by SPARC’s server and may change for a future quote. Buying again while Assist is active adds the newly quoted duration after the existing expiry.

Lara Tutor Season Pass

Access until the fixed JAMB season end date shown before payment. Its price may depend on the time left in that fixed season—not your personal exam date. Tutor includes Assist only while Tutor remains active.

Tutor sales may be closed for a season. Assist is normally available without a seasonal opening, although new checkout may be paused during a payment or service incident. A pause does not cancel access already paid for.

Payments are processed by Paystack. Before you approve a charge, SPARC shows the product, exact amount, currency, duration or season end date, and that the purchase will not renew automatically. SPARC verifies the reference, user, product, currency and amount before granting access.

For an account belonging to a student under 18, every purchase also needs a separate guardian decision. The single-use guardian link expires after 30 minutes and is bound to the exact product, NGN amount, duration or end date and non-renewal terms. A changed or expired quote needs a fresh request.

Corrections and refunds

If you were charged twice, a verified payment did not activate, the amount did not match the accepted quote, or a paid service could not be supplied, contact support@sparc.ng with the payment reference. We will investigate and correct, restore or refund the transaction where the facts and applicable law require it.

Deleting an account or changing your mind after using a digital pass does not automatically create a refund, but nothing here removes a consumer right that the law does not allow SPARC to exclude. Any material restriction on a refund will be shown before purchase where required.

6. Accounts and fair use

Give accurate account information and keep access to the email connected to your account. You are responsible for reasonable security of your device, email and sign-in details. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

Please do not:

  • use SPARC for fraud, harassment, abuse or unlawful activity;
  • bypass payment checks, entitlements, usage safeguards or account security;
  • probe, attack, overload or disrupt SPARC or its providers;
  • copy, scrape, redistribute, sell or publish a substantial part of SPARC’s content without permission;
  • submit malware or content that infringes another person’s rights;
  • send another person’s private information without permission; or
  • use automation to extract content or create unreasonable traffic.

We may apply reasonable usage and provider-routing safeguards to online Lara so the service remains reliable and economically sustainable. These safeguards do not change the duration of a paid entitlement, and Lara should say she is unavailable rather than fabricate a response when providers fail.

7. Content and ownership

SPARC and its licensors retain their rights in the brand, software, design, learning formats, original questions, explanations and other product content. Your right to use SPARC is personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable. It is for your own study, not resale or republication.

You keep the rights you already have in original material you send to support or Lara. You allow SPARC and its service providers to process it only as reasonably needed to deliver, secure, support and improve the requested service, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

External links are provided for context. SPARC does not control an institution’s website, availability, security or current content.

8. Deletion, suspension and ending access

You may stop using SPARC at any time. You can permanently delete your account inside the app or request deletion through our web deletion route. Deletion ends account access and any active Lara pass because the entitlement is tied to that account.

We may limit or suspend access where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect a student or the service, comply with law, or respond to a serious breach of these terms. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and provide a support route. We may end the service in future, but will give reasonable notice where practicable and deal fairly with unexpired paid access.

9. When something goes wrong

We work to keep SPARC reliable and preserve local study work, but devices fail, storage can be cleared, providers can go down and software can have faults. Keep official documents and important admission information outside SPARC. Let support know quickly when a payment, account or data issue appears so we have a fair chance to correct it.

SPARC is responsible to the extent required by applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility for fraud, misrepresentation, defective performance, negligence or another liability or consumer right that Nigerian law does not permit us to exclude.

Within those legal limits, SPARC is not a promise of a particular exam score or admission outcome and is not responsible for a decision made solely from an estimate, generated answer, historical requirement or information clearly labelled unverified.

10. Changes, Nigerian law and contact

We may update these terms when SPARC or the law changes. The current version and date will stay here. If a change materially affects an active paid entitlement, we will give additional notice where reasonably practicable and will not apply the change retroactively in an unfair way.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Please contact support first so we can understand and try to resolve a concern. Your mandatory consumer and data-protection rights remain available, including the right to approach the relevant regulator or court.
